We use a combination of toggle bolts and stud-finding techniques specific to old plaster. The key is finding the lath pattern and using it to your advantage. Under a covered patio or pergola? Absolutely. Exposed to rain? We'd advise against it. The rain itself isn't the main issue — it's the constant dampness. We use stainless hardware and weatherproof cable connections for any outdoor install. A covered patio setup runs $249. If you insist on uncovered, we can install a weatherproof enclosure for $349, but we're honest: it extends the TV's life but doesn't make it immortal.
